COVID-19 Information & Resources

PUBLISHED: MARCH 19, 2020

We are certainly living in unique times. The coronavirus pandemic is affecting everyone from our families, businesses, brave healthcare and first responders in our community. As the situation continues to evolve, we want to update and share what we are doing out of love for you and what our church members are engaged in because of our love for God’s people in the Miami community.

Above all else, our thoughts are with those impacted by the virus, particularly those who are sick. We pray for their quick recovery, and remain inspired by our healthcare workers and others who are caring for people directly affected.

It is imperative that we take care of our people. We have taken actions to protect our own by moving our services and life groups to online format. We believe everyone will benefit greatly by joining one of our life groups. To learn more visit https://arisemiami.org/life-groups

Bringing Hope and God’s love to the Miami Community At-Large

As ARISE Miami members, we recognize God’s love for us and follow His example by loving others. We invite you to be a part of our movement at this time to; care for the most vulnerable in our community, share resources with the jobless, and connect with those we have not seen in a while by encouraging them to join us not only online through our YouTube Live service but also in our Online Life Groups. .

Let us share our God given emotional and spiritual support and be a place where God’s message of hope provides assurance in people of God’s promises.

Moments like this are a reminder about how life is better together. With God and each other, we can overcome challenges and complexities. Please find below a set of FAQs on our readiness to support you during this period. Our church members are here for you, and we’ll continue to keep you updated and informed.

Dear ARISE Miami Family:

Out of the abundance of caution we are suspending our church services for the next two weeks and will invite all of you to join us for our services online.

https://www.youtube.com/c/ARISEMiami

We will begin our livestream tomorrow, March 14th at 11:15AM

Take this opportunity to visit the link above and subscribe to the YouTube channel and click on the notification bell to be notified when we post new content and are live.

All of our Life Groups will immediately move towards an online format to avoid putting anyone at risk. We will provide more information as we are able.

We have been informed that the Miami-Dade school district is suspending school as well as GMAA. Multiple events nation, state, and city-wide have been suspended and as such we do not feel it prudent to keep the church open.

I believe that the best we can do as disciples of Jesus is to NOT be purveyors of sickness. Out of love for our community we need to detach for a time.

▪ Please be in prayer. We are asking for God to give us courage and peace during this time.
▪ Please pray for our civic and church leaders to make good and prudent decisions.
▪ Please pray for our medical community to find a breakthrough to arrest this pandemic.
▪ Please pray for those currently sick for God to place his healing hand on them.

Looking forward to connecting with you online tomorrow and in the coming days.

We will continue to communicate with you all through our social media platforms.

Be of good courage,

Kendall

Hello Arise Miami Family,

We wanted to send out a personalized communication on behalf of your church. We want to keep everyone as informed as possible in light of the COVID-19 outbreak that is affecting all of us right now. As of this moment our church service for this weekend March 14, 2020 is moving forward.

Our recommendations after consulting with our church board, conference office personnel, and some guidelines from the department of health for Miami-Dade County are as follows.

1) We will suspend our breakfast indefinitely at church to avoid unnecessary exposure to infection.
2) Please continue washing your hands and using hand sanitizer as often as possible.
3) Please refrain from hand shaking, fist bumping, hugs, or close contact, until everything resolves. Elbow bumping is fine.
4) If you are sick, have come from any travel abroad or have been around anyone who has been, please worship with us online until you are certain you are in full health. The virus usually manifests in 5 days from initial exposure.

We will continue to monitor our Miami-Dade County guidelines and let you know of our churches closure if necessary. I want to leave you with words from our president Pr. Allan Macahdo.

“Today more than ever, we should embrace the words of our Lord Jesus Christ: I will not leave you alone, my peace I give to you. Do not be afraid. The presence of the Lord will be with us until the end of time (John 14).”
